However, a few programs include boys, but the emphasis is on girls’ exposure and empowerment.
HISTORY
Since 2009, PEEP This, Inc. has implemented culturally competent programs for girls in schools, churches, and community settings throughout Ward 8. Programs have included after-school programming, one-on-one coaching, educational support, retreats, peer-to-peer training, community service opportunities, teen pregnancy prevention, family enrichment activities, and a South African Cross-Cultural program that connected youth from Southeast DC to youth in South Africa to learn of one’s culture, history, and similarities. Most programmatic activities have been self-supported by the founder or financed by donations from local churches and community members.
