“Welcome to PEEP This! where we passionately empower girls in underserved communities, igniting change one life at a time. Our mission is to leave an indelible mark on these young lives by exposing them to transformative experiences, empowering them with knowledge, and instilling the confidence to pursue their passions with purpose. Through these efforts, we enable them to become powerful contributors to their communities.
Since our inception in 2009, PEEP This! has been dedicated to implementing culturally competent programs for girls in schools, churches, and community settings throughout Ward 8. Our initiatives encompass a wide spectrum, including after-school programs, one-on-one coaching, educational support, retreats, peer-to-peer training, community service opportunities, teen pregnancy prevention, family enrichment activities, and even a South African Cross-Cultural program that connects youth from southeast Washington, D.C. with their counterparts in South Africa, fostering cultural understanding, appreciation of history, and shared experiences.
Our commitment to these programs has often been self-supported by our founder or financed by generous donations from local churches and community members. At PEEP This!, we’re driven by a unique approach that centers on offering youth leadership projects to promote social justice, enhance literacy skills, and cultivate global awareness through cross-cultural exchanges utilizing various art disciplines. We’re also dedicated to training youth ambassadors who can raise social consciousness about youth empowerment on both a community and city-wide level.
